Z-Axis Homing fails because Nozzle is too high

Hi,

i am printing with Octoprint and PrusaLink disabled. After every print the Nozzle stops in a higher but good position. After this i f i try to make a Auto-Homing. The X/Y-Axis works fine but then it goes to the X/Y Zero/Zero position and starts homing the Z-Axis. But after some tries it crashes because the Nozzle is to high and it was to often retries. So after 2-3 Autohoming it goes down enough and the Homing works. The Load sensor is working fine it is just a problem that the Nozzle starts to high and in the Setting the z-Axis is at Zero. How can i fix this?

Hi kami,

To fix issue with the Z-Axis homing, you can try adjusting the Z-offset in your printer settings. This will lower the starting position  of nozzle during homing. You can usually find this settings in your printer's firmware or in the Octoprint settings. By lowering the Z-offset, the nozzle should start at a lower position, preventing it from crashing due to being too high. Give it a try and let me know if it solves the problem.

Best Regards

Hi,

thanks a lot for the answer. But the problem is, that in the Prusa printer the positions are not changing, when i control the printer with Octoprint. So the printer think he is at another position after the printing. I can only fix this, when i make an auto homing before every printing with octoprint.

I use Octoprint with the MK4 and have not had this issue.  Moving X, Y, and/or Z axis via Octoprint, then checking the printer position (via the LCD, or via M114) shows that the printer knows the correct positions.

In Octoprint "Settings, Gcode Scripts", do you have any commands being sent before/after a print that could be resetting the position?  Something like a G92 there might cause the issue you describe.

Are you using standard PrusaSlicer profiles?  If not, check the start/end Gcode there as well.

Hi,

thanks a lot for the answer. The problem is that after a restart of the printer the position is not stored. Octoprint and the Prusa is working fine together. If i move the nozzle with Octoprint or the Prusa directly the values are okay. But if i restart the printer all positions are lost. How can i fix this?
