Wifi not work

Hallo everyone!. I have a problem with the wifi module of my MK4. I received the printer as a kit about a month ago, I assembled it and I must say that it works very well, very precise and detailed, now even a little faster with the new 5.0.0 firmware. Last week after installing the new firmware I tried to configure my wifi. I would like to point out that my network meets the requirements (802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz). After creating the credentials according to the instructions I uploaded them. The wifi icon does not appear on the screen and obviously the IPV4 address necessary to complete the configuration does not appear. So I contacted customer service and remained with them for more than 3 hours. I tried to extract and reinsert the wifi module, I tried to do the hard reset twice and then downgrade to the firmware, I tried at least 20 times to recreate the credentials but the result is always the same. The wifi icon does not appear, and the printer does not connect to the network. In truth, when I try to enter the configuration and for example to select the type of connection from Ethernet to WiFi, the icon appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears. after an exhausting chat, customer service sent me a new wifi module which I received today and immediately tried to insert. I inserted it with the printer turned off, then I turned it on and the wifi configuration started which ended positively. However the wifi icon still does not appear. I then tried for the umpteenth time to create the credentials, obviously always following the easy procedure, but alas, nothing. No wifi signal. I would like to point out that the signal is excellent, the printer is 3 meters from the router. I also tried connecting the printer to the ethernet cable and in this case the connection is perfect. I don't know what to do anymore and I don't want to waste any more hours chatting with customer service who will make me repeat procedures ad nauseam that I have done so many times without success. I would rule out that the problem is the wifi module since I tried two of them. I also exclude the possibility that it is an error in creating the credentials (moreover, if I am not already mistaken, after just configuring the wifi module the printer should still show the wifi symbol on the screen except for being able to connect to my network once the credentials have been created and loaded). Have any of you had a similar experience and/or could you give me a suggestion on how to resolve it? I thank in advance anyone who wants to try to help me

RISPONDI: Wifi not work

Good morning everyone, I solved the problem I tried connecting an old wifi extender to my network. This extender only works at 2.4GHz. I then created the login credentials to my network through the extender instead of directly to the router and the printer connected. The wifi symbol appeared on the printer and shortly after I got the IPV4 address I was convinced that the problem could not depend on the connection to the network but rather on the inability of the printer to activate the wifi and instead I was wrong. The wifi module worked correctly but the symbol did not appear on the display because the printer was unable to connect to the router, probably because it actually appears to be connected to 2.4Ghz of the dual connection mode 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and this conflicts with the printer's WiFi. Connecting it to the old wifi extender instead which only works in 2.4ghz worked.

RE: Wifi not work

I am experiencing exactly the same problem.  I could have written the same post as @gigifux.  My primary WiFi network is both 2.4 and 5Ghz, so I set up a separate SSID that is only 2.4Ghz.  I am still not able to connect to the wifi network.

Does anyone have any further suggestions?  WiFi connection was one of the reasons that I bought the 3.9 upgrade kit, but at this point I'm stuck.  Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.

I am using 3.9 with Wifi. Ok...

do either your SSID or Password have Non Alpha Numeric characters?

If yes,  try without them

RE: Wifi not work

Excellent suggestion!  And that was the problem - my router had automatically stuck a hyphen into the SSID.  I removed it and all is well.  Thanks so much for your help!

Regards,

Jack

RE: Wifi not work

I went into my router settings and took the space out of my SSID and that fixed it. Very stupid limitation for a thousand dollar machine. Hopefully Prusa does better next time and doesn't cheap out on the wifi card.

RE: Wifi not work

I'm struggling with wifi issues since I have upgraded to MK3,9. PRinted sometimes connect to my network without any problem a and sometimes it just doesn't.

I had space in my SSID, I've removed it but it's still the same. SSID is now all small letters, no space password just small letters and numbers

Router settings are also still the same. I have connected multiple different devices over wifi and only issue is the Prusa Printer.

I'd appreciate any help or advice, I'm really desprate now
