Weird Resonation on Y axis
hi!
I have a factory assembled mk4 and I cannot for the life of me figure out this resonation. I first noticed it when moving the bed manually by hand with the printer off. I also noticed when printing certain circular objects. Most of the time, this sound isn’t present, but it does appear enough for me to notice and is frustrating because I cannot pin point where it is coming from. I spoke to support a few times and no dice so far. I also asked about the bad batch of Y motors but they told me that was in the past. I ordered my printer June 30th and it came around the middle of may.
steps I’ve taken to solve:
- ensure everything is secure
- cleaned and repacked bearings
- replaced bearings with 3 new ones from Prusa
- cleaned and searched linear rods for scratches (no scratches)
- adjusted the y belt to varying tensions
I also noticed something; when putting the y carriage back together, sound is present again once the belt goes back on. With the belt off, the sound isn’t there.
