Steel Sheet Shifted During Print - Help!

So started my third print today after 2 very successful prints yesterday and the day before.  Unfortunately the steel sheet shifted about 2 hours into the print and I was met with the mess in the picture below.

I haven’t seen anything posted around this issue yet.  Any advice to stop this from happening again?

That looks unusual. Looks like layer shifts happened but instead of knocking the model free, the model was stuck so much to the sheet that it moves the sheet instead. I'd start by looking at the usual suspects for layer shifts: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/layer-shifting_2020 In addition to what's in there, I found collisions of with infill (especially with grid infill) or warped overhangs to be another common source.

Thanks, @fuchsr. I'll have a look at that article and see what I come up with.

I agree with Fuchsr, never seen that degree of plate movement before.  Warping models lifting the platter directly away from the bed yes but not sideways like that.  The magnetic force is way high, I don't think I could easily move mine by hand to duplicate that.

Might be worth a quick check to make sure all the magnets that are still glued into the pockets on the bottom of the heated bed and are still there.  I remember seeing a post years ago where some had come out that ended up reducing the bed<>platter force.

Thanks for the input, Neophyl.  No loose/missing magnets that I can see and the sheet sticks very firmly to the hotbed, so seems okay there.

I’m going to go over everything tomorrow, make sure everything is tight, and also check all the belt tensions. That seems to be the underlying theme of the link Fuchsr referred me to.

I’ll report back once I’ve checked everything and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again!

So I went through and gave everything a good check, making sure everything was tight and checking the belt tensions.  No issues.

I followed that by doing a small 10 minute print and it came out fine.

I’m going to assume it was a fluke and see if it happens again on a longer print.

Thanks again for the advice!
