Recurring print defect

Any idea what may be causing the error in the picture?  The line is basically a skipped layer.  If you put any pressure on the head it will snap at the line as if it was support material.  This has been happening often but not always for many months.  The height varies, its always one layer, sometimes the layer is huge, sometimes very small.  I don't have a plug.  I am leaning towards a g code issue because code that has the problem always seems to have it on reprint and code that doesn't doesn't seem to develop the issue on subsequent prints.  30+ hours prints will be successful and then this pops up on another print an hour in?

RE:

Guys

are you a MK4 owners?

It could be an extrusion issue as well - stucked filament in the nozzle for a moment.

Is it printed by help of MMU or painted?
