Question on Nozzle Cleaning
Is it normal for the nozzle cleaning to have a mind of it's own when it comes to the amount of times it probes the build plate sheet? Sometimes it does 3 then another time 9 and another time 12, then 16 another time. It even does 2 rows on a rare occasion. Yet it always passes the cleaning without a problem. Just wondering if my load sensor is acting up.

It will keep moving left and touching down repeatedly until it senses a "clean" touchdown (i.e., no molten filament at the tip of the nozzle). The more oozing there is, the more touches it will make (until it hits the limit, which is pretty high, and says "cleaning failed"). If there is no oozing, it tends to complete on the third touch and proceeds with bed leveling.
Super dry filament (especially with PETG) is really helpful, as any moisture will make it ooze and prolong the nozzle cleaning.

Ok, thanks for the info. I always pull the little ooze when the hot end gets up to around 140-150C and I also have a modded profile that sets the preheat temp to 170 as opposed to 180C and that really help from getting cleaning failed messages. I also use a brass brush and clean the nozzle while it is preheating. I am using PETG but I don't think I have any moisture issues but I do have filament dryer just in case.
