Problems at end of filament

Hi

I've got a MK4 (kit) for a few days now and I'm very happy with it so far.

But today I had an effect that had never been a problem with the MK3 before.

The filament (PLA) ran out. The MK4 also recognized this perfectly and moved the print bed all the way back and the head to the right. Then he obviously pushed the remaining filament in first, because a lot of it came out of the bottom of the nozzle, and then pulled it back in. Only the end of the filament no longer came out of the filling opening and was stuck in the drive. Which means that inserting new filament didn't work and I first had to laboriously remove the rest of the filament more or less brutally from the side of the extruder...

Is that the case with you too? Or is there another problem? Firmware is 5.1.2

Thank you for your help!

LG
Michael

I experienced this too. The bug is in the firmware where the FW thinks you want to replace the filament and tries to create a tip at the end. Instead of the printer remembering that the initial cause was a lack of filament and just throwing out the rest, it pulls it in even more and during the backward movement the end of the filament hits the edge of the hole with the sensor ball and the problem is there. And then there is yelling and cursing😒Probably the best solution is to open the door of the feeder before moving the filament in and carefully push it down while moving the filament back.
