Powering the Buddy 3d Camera .....

Hi everyone! 😊

I’ve got my MK4 set up in a Prusa enclosure, and I’m wondering about powering the Buddy 3d Camera that prusa is selling. If I plug it into the USB-C port on the xBuddy board, will that be enough to power it?

That USB C port on the xBuddy board is just for feeding serial Data in, not for putting power out. Because this has been asked a few times now, I just checked the port with a USB power meter: no power output there.

Thanks for the feedback.
In my opinion its pretty stupid offering a product like the camera and then you would need another source to power the device.

It's hard to believe. I ordered one thinking it must integrate into the machine somehow. In this current market, it's remarkable they failed to consider a future camera integration into their design. I've yet to use it, and I'm considering returning it.

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing.  That explains why it was tossed in for free with my XL.
