Possible damaged Bearing in Parts cooling Fan?
Hi,
i would be very thankful, if some of you who also got an MK4 could provide me some Insight for Comparision.
I got my MK4 Kit a week ago - everything is fine so far, aside from a very annoying Noise my Parts cooling Fan is doing. I know from my Mini i already have that the parts Fan is usualy a bit noisy / noticable, but just sounds just like blowing Air - just like a Fan should sound.
My MK4 Parts Fan on the other hand produces an additional high pitched whining. You can hear it in the attached audio File ( I start at 30% Fan Speed going up to 100% in 10% increments)

I also noticed there is a strong Imbalance while the Fan is rotating, as the Fanwheel is quite "wobbeling" arround along its rotation Axis. I took a sharpie and carefully held it against the center of Fanwheel at the same Distance. In the attached Pictures you can see that the Circle is not completly enclosed. It seems the Fanwheel ist angeled a few degree off along its rotaion Axis.
Do your MK4 Parts Cooling Fans do this noise too or have this Imbalance?
Thanks for your Feedback

I can't hear a thing from my Mk4's fan. I for one would talk to Prusa Support and see if they can send you a replacement fan. Alternatively, assuming this is the same fan type as used for the Mk3 (Out of town so I can't check), you can try to carefully peel the label on the inside center partially off and apply one drop of machine oil, then reapply the label. Has worked wonders on my Mk3s.
