Not feeding filament

For the last week or so I've had a problem that I haven't had before. During printing the printer stops feeding filament through the extruder. There is no clogging and purging works fine. The printer continues printing even though it doesn't get fed any filament.

When I reprint the same gcode after the above failure it stops feeding at the same exakt spot. This has happened with several different STLs.

I use Prusaslicer. Latest firmware on the printer and updated slicer.

Tried to factory reset the printer and after that reinstalling latest firmware bur the problem persisted.

Any ideas?

RE: Not feeding filament

I had a similar problem. It took me a long time to sort it.

After trying several fixes which didn't work, I printed an indicator which allowed me to see when the nextruder was/wasn't rotating.

https://www.printables.com/model/1679-super-simple-nema-extruder-motor-rotation-indicato

When I fitted this, I was able to see that the needle was in the same position each time the filament stopped printing. This gave me the clue that the problem was in the stepper motor.

I removed the 3 screws on the front of the Nextruder and removed the gear assembly. This leaves the motor spindle accessible. When I manually turned the motor spindle I could feel that there was a tight spot on one part of the rotation. So then I removed the stepper motor and removed the 4 screws which hold the end cover on it. I removed the end cover from the motor, rotated it 90° and put it back together. There was no tight spot. I reassembled everything and now my printer works fine.
