Heatbreak Mintemp Error on MK4 FW6.4

Was messing around with clearing a filament clog yesterday. Printer was good when I went to bed. Woke up to a “your printer needs attention” notification from Prusa Connect.

When I went out to look at the printer, it has a heatbreak min temp error on the display.

I looked up the QR code and it says that the thermistor registered a temperature below 5°C.

That’s only like 41°F, so that makes sense since we had snow last night, and it was not in a temperature controlled space.

The issue I have is that after resetting the system, it throws this error every time I do anything temperature related, like preheat for filament. The error also causes the printer to reboot, and come back up on the display with the same error that was showing when I woke up.

The thermistor wiring is intact, and there is no cause for actual damage, unless simply registering a 5°C temperature or lower will actually damage the thermistor?

I don’t want to replace the Heatbreak or thermistor, unless I know that that is necessary. I also need to know if having my printer in temperatures lower than 41°F will break it in the future.

Help?

I believe 41°F  is equal to 5°C  this should not physically break the thermistor, however the printer may consider the temperature too low to get a reliable reading.
on the Mk4 you have at least 3 thermistors,
Heatbed thermistor, Heater Thermistor and Heatbreak Thermistor  Similar thermistors have a working range of -50C to +300C, so 5°C is comfortably within that range.

I have not yet used a Mk4, in cold temperatures, but I have used a Mk3 printer at low temperatures.

you should be able warm  the extruder and heatbed with a hair drier once the heatbed and extruder are above about 15°C, the printer should be happy again.
