Heat Block Distance from Extruder assembly

What should be the distance from the extruder body on the MK4 to the top of the heater block? I did a complete upgrade to MK4 on my MK3S and it seems that my heat block and nozzle extend well beyond the bottom of the cooling fan shroud that blows across the print. Is there a standard. I've been unable to find a good closeup pic showing the relationship between the heater block, the shroud and the bottom of the extruder. Is the bottom of the block supposed to be parallel with the bottom of the shroud? above it? Below it? how far? When I assembled I slid it up are as it would go but now I'm afraid something may have stopped from going as far as it should have.
