Had to downgrade MK4 firmware from 5.0.1 back down to 5.0.0

Greeting to all,

Had to downgrade MK4 firmware from 5.0.1 back down to 5.0.0.  Using the same file I was using with 5.0.0, now 5.0.1 created problems I had never experienced.  The print file would stop printing at the 2% timeline (multiple times), or the print would stop, head move to side, then start printing again but would cause an upward layer shift, in other words part of the new layer would be missing.

I tried the reset, reloaded my print file onto a new USB, reloaded the 5.0.1 firmware, still had issues, could not get one print to fully print with no issues.

Downgraded to 5.0.0, no more issues.

Anyone else experiencing firmware issues?

Also, I sure don't like how hard & how many times the print head is hammered against the end-travel of an axis during each new print startup sequence.  Can't be good for the long-term reliability of the parts.

Happy printing to all.

I didn't bother upgrading firmware since my printer is printing rather reliably for now. I read the below from Prusa and decided to skip:

"This firmware release 5.0.1 is addressing self-test issues that may occur after assembling the printer. If your printer is already calibrated and printing without problems, you can skip this update."

When it comes to the Axis test sequence, I'm with you there. I don't like this either! I'm hoping for an update to address this issue, as well as the filament sensor/whisps issue, which we know a fix has been developed for but just not made public yet.....

@iftibashir, thanks for the reply.  I had not read the update statement you referenced.  My printer kept bugging me to update each time I turned it on, so I did.  Lesson learned.
