First 3D Printer, Print Sheets and Nozzles
I'm going to order the MK4. It will be my first 3D printer. There are options for additional print sheets: textured and satin. I'm going to print gridfinity parts to start. Would I need a different one for this application or is it useful to have them on hand? I'll start with PLA as that seems to be a general consensus in a gridfinity post on the subject.
A 0.6mm nozzle is also recomended. I found a nozzle page on the web site, but no mention of 0.6mm. Is this something I get somewhere else?
RE: First 3D Printer, Print Sheets and Nozzles
I just got my first 3D printer and got a second smooth sheet and a satin and textured as well. As I learn more, I think I should have gotten a second satin sheet instead of the smooth sheet, but I don't have enough experience to confirm that. What i did was look at the filaments I want to print with at the time. I have projects that will use both PETG and ASA so that was my basis.
I have seen some interesting videos on using a 0.6 nozzle and may got that way for many of my prints. Not sure about the MK4 nozzle. The MK3s+ uses a standard nozzle and I have ordered other sizes and hardened nozzle for one project.
BTW, the gridfinity look interesting.
RE: First 3D Printer, Print Sheets and Nozzles
The 0.6 and other nozzles should become available later for MK4, and with the adapter any other standard nozzle can be used.
As for the sheets I did not yet get my hand on the satin one. The smooth sheet has very good adhesion for PLA and I use it most of the time. The "downside" is mostly cosmetic - the bottom of the print is smooth (with the first layer lines mostly clearly visible) and the rest of the print is not. So I have the textured sheet for cases where I need the bottom to look better (printing something with my logo upside down etc.)
RE: First 3D Printer, Print Sheets and Nozzles
I order one of each sheet and will wait on the nozzles.
Thanks for the help
