faulty usb thumb freezing mid print with heater on
I would like to report the following issue, it might be a security issue.
Yesterday I've used a faulty USB thumb and the printer frozen at 18% (I believe it could not read the gcode file completely).
The biggest problem is the nozzle remained on at 215 Celsius. I waited about a minute, nothing happened - good thing is I was working near the printer and realised it paused. The printer head has been parked in the "print finished" position - 5 centimeters up and on the left of the object.
I could have waited more time, but I was afraid, so I restarted the printer. I tried again the same print, and my mk4 behaved the same - stopped at 18% midprint, with the nozzle at 215 Celsius and the printhead parked aboved the object.
I then realised the thumb drive could be faulty, resliced the file with the same settings and copied it on a new USB stick. Everything went smooth from that moment on.
Still have the faulty drive 😀

My Mk4 has been using USB drives for 4-5 prints, then when trying to wirelessly load a new g-code, I get a faulty drive error in Prusa Slicer.
Oddly enough, the printer itself still recognized the drive and will print from it. If I reformat the drive it acts the same.

Intressting, my USB Drive was also faulty. I reformat it and it works for a while. Today it interrupt a 4hours print mid print . I try to read the Stick in my Mac. The stick was not readable anymore. It was the Original Prusa USB Stick.

I also have a faulty USB drive, that gave me all sort of strange horizontal lines, but never an interruption mid print.

prusa slicer locked up on me today would not load a file to usb had to reboot my pc then it worked then my usb shit it self with weird files on it ?? so reformatted it i think i will junk the prusa usb and get a known usb
