consistent under extrusion with 0.6 Nozzle

I get really good results with the MK4 and the stock nozzle 0.4. I also have a 0.6 nozzleX and as others already pointed out the diameter seems a bit on the narrow side of 0.6. I get a consistent under extrusion on all prints. So I obviously can tweak the Extrusion Multiplier parameter in the filament settings to compensate this.

But is this the right thing to do. I want to change something related to printer settings which takes effect for all filaments I am using. Otherwise I need to tweak all my filament settings for the 0.6 nozzle and change all of them back when I swap to the 0.4 nozzle again.

I have to admit that I am not yet familiar with the inheritance rules of settings in the Prusa slicer. Any advice to do this the right way is highly appreciated

RE:

I think the root cause is the coating. There is another post here where the same effect is seen with an obsidian nozzle 0.6 which also has a coating. This seem to narrow the diameter a bit which needs to be compensated in the printer settings so that we can use the same filament settings for different nozzles.

RE: consistent under extrusion with 0.6 Nozzle

In slicer, look under "Printer settings", then "extruder"

You can enter a nozzle diameter in there (need to save as to a new printer definition)

I don't know if this actually changes the slicing, but it seems like it should.

I have on an Obxidian 0.6 nozzle too and it looks to me like it under-extrudes. With a smooth sheet, the print still works OK. With a satin sheet it's hit or miss (mostly miss)

Thanks for your comment but that is not my point. I use a printer profile for a 0.6 nozzle. There the nozzle size is already entered correctly. But I still need to enter an ExtrusionMultiplier in the Filament settings to compensate. I don’t think that I should enter 0.59 to compensate for this.
