Weird filament issue

Now that I’ve upgraded (mk3s+ > 4), I’ve been using the extra filament that was left from printing the parts for the upgrade.

the weird thing is that the black PETG that printed flawlessly on the MK3s+ incarnation of the printer is causing issues on the mk4. The orange prints just fine, but the black, without fail will stop extruding once the part being printed gets to about 8-10mm high. It just stops. The extruder keeps merrily rotating the gear, but the filament doesn’t get pushed through. No noises, no alerts from the printer. You come into check on the progress and just find the printer going through the motions above the part with nothing being printed.

I thought at first that maybe it was the tension in the idler arm being too slack, allowing the filament to slip - but reading all the posts here regarding having it set too high giving issues I left it alone, as the ends of the adjustment screws are as per the instructions and the assembly pictures (just at the end of the ‘nut’ they screw into).

Anyone else seen this? I’m going to test with some other filament (some prusament PETG I have on hand) and see if that has any problems, but just wondered if anyone else had run into this.

cheers

Jason.
