Stock sheet alternative

I'm looking to print some PETG but I have only the smooth stock sheet.

Do you think I can use a Neptune 3 PRO PEI sheet and place it in the purge corner and place correctly the part in slicer without damaging the heatbed?

PETG will stick too tightly to clean, smooth PEI and is likely to damage the sheet.

Use a spritz of cheap windowcleaner or wipe ONE swipe of gluestick across the bed and spread it to the margins with a wet paper towel and you should reduce adhesion enough for safe PETG or TPU printing.

You still have to clean the print sheet and reapply the cleaner/glue between prints.

I can try with some glue but maybe it will be better to re-use the Neptune 3 PRO textured PEI sheet. (forgot to mention textured in my first post sorry)

Since the N3P sheet is smaller in width, there will be a small gap at the right side of the MK4 bed and want to be sure the nozzle probe mesh will never go to this zone

I have been using the smooth sheet with PETG as above for 5 years whenever I want the smooth first layer and I expect to continue.  Textured sheets do release PETG and TPU without a release agent but using the wrong sized sheet is going to need careful preparation.  You will also have to clamp the plate down somehow as it is likely to slide around without registration points.

The satin sheet gives you a nice surface without a perceivable texture, yet the PETG will be easily removable. I exclusively use that sheet for all materials and it's been really great without ever requiring any glue shenanigans. 🙂

I agree. The satin sheet is all I use for PLA and PETG. Perfect every time.
