Small spec questions about the base Mk4 kit and accessories

Hi!

I'm looking into getting back into 3D printing after a 4 year break. Basically, I now want a printer that just works. I'm looking into the Bambu P1S, Bambu X1c and the Prusa Mk4. Being in EU, the Prusa really has a lot of good thing going for me. But I still have some basic question.

- I could not find what type of Nozzle was available in the base kit? Is it Brass? If I want a hardened nozzle, is the ObXidian the only option?

- If I later buy an enclosure, be it the official one or a comparable solution, does it basically gave the same range as a closed printer like the BambuLab?

- Is there any automatic print error detection?

- Is it compatible with the MMU3? If not, do we know if it will be soon?

- Can it print easily PETG without Enclosure?

- And finally, I read/saw that the automatic bed levelling (not really levelling, but I don't know how to call it) can have some issue if there is a slight ooze of plastic on the nozzle, do you need to clean the nozzle every time after the printer started heating it but before it started to check the bed levelling?

If all those information are easily found, I'd be happy to be pointed in the right direction.

RE: Small spec questions about the base Mk4 kit and accessories

I can only answer some of your questions. I built my MK4 kit a couple of months ago.

It comes with a 0.4mm brass nozzle.

No automatic print error detection.

It can easily print PETG without an enclosure. I bought the satin sheet and I use that for PLA and PETG. Works perfectly every time.

The printer keeps the temperature lower while bed leveling. No oozing at all with PLA or PETG.

I would say that for what I do, print PLA and PETG, the printer works perfectly. I had an MK3S for a few years and the MK4 is better in so many ways.

I turn on the printer and load the filament. It detects the filament and asks what material? I select PETG and it heats up and purges the material until I am satisfied with the color. I use Octoprint so I just go to PrusaSlicer, slice, and select send to printer (upload and print). It starts printing. I am careful to remove the printed object without touching the build plate, so I don't even bother to clean it after a print job. I do keep a plastic bag over the printer when not in use to keep dust out.

You can add any nozzle via the nozzle adapter but many people including myself have found that they (in my case tungsten carbide) leak if used in conjunction with the standard aluminum heater block. You can now buy one made from copper on AliExpress and apparently it works a lot better with hardened nozzles.

I for one have been underwhelmed with the always perfect first layer. Works okay with PLA but for other materials I've not been able to convince myself that is a start it and walk away printer like my Mk3s used to be. I routinely need to adjust live a a bit.
