Prusa Wins !
I have the MK3S and was thinking about buying either the MK4 or the Bambu Lab P1S-AMS. I like the Prusa environment, forum support, quality, dedication to their users and look forward to learning Fusion 360. The thing that sealed the deal was watching Josef's video showing the Prusa manufacturing process. Such an amazing place. I'm a little nervous about first layer adhesion issues that I sometimes get with the MK3S and smooth sheet, so I ordered a satin sheet and spool of Prusament PLA with it and I also have a textured sheet that I never used with my MK3S. I'll keep it for the MK4. I wanted to show you my cabinet that I use. I bought a kitchen cabinet at IKEA from their as-is department. I cut out the door panel and replaced it with plastic. I added 10W LED's for light and a thermometer. The camera on the left allows me to watch the print remotely.

Bambu has a really good line-up of printers but I went with the Prusa MK4 for much of the same reasons as you. Along with quality comes long-term upgrade support and a proven track record of reliability over time. We'll have to wait to see if the Bambu printers meet that threshold.
The ability to have the printer in my office printing while I work was one of the things that sealed the deal for me. I did not want to sequester my printer to its own room because of the noise. I will eventually purchase the Prusa enclosure and that will further reduce any noise and VOCs.
My first layer has been great using PLA or PETG. I've settled on the Satin sheet for both PLA and PETG and it is great.

I also wanted to be careful to not buy more printer than I need. I tried the MMU 2.0 for my Prusa a few years ago and found it to be a disaster. It was so awkward to set up and use and PLA exposed to the room air became brittle and snapped often, leading to further complications. I never managed a single multicolor print and sold it off. I can live with out multi color prints and as for speed, it looks like the Bambu is faster, but the MK4 is also faster than the MK3S and I know that Prusa will support their customers with firmware upgrades that may some day make the MK4 even faster. The Bambu seems to have a built-in camera, another miss for Prusa, but at least I'll be able to print over the network or wirelessly. I can add a camera later.

What was also decisive for me was the operational safety. I don't trust any Chinese manufacturer in this respect.
Prusa is exemplary for me. Of course, I also installed smoke detectors here and have a fire extinguisher to hand.
The Bambulab A1 has a problem with the cable from the heating bed. The construction with the heating element from a stove is quite strange. Is it wise to have 220V on the cable from a bed slinger? And then in such poor quality. But apparently the return policy is fair. And the cloud warns you not to use the appliance any more.
By the way, I ordered the MMU3. Let's see if I have a better experience.The filament comes in an airtight container without filament storage in between.

I know nothing about how the Bambu printer is built and if they are using a bad heater design, then all the more reason to stay away. Anyways, my printer should arrive on Feb 14. That's enough of a Valentines Day gift for me. My wife, not so much.

Hello! Happy to have you here. I got my first 3D printer, a MK4 kit, late 2023. In regards to the bed adhesion, it's great. Even when the PrusaSlicer warns me about adhesion and wants me to add a brim, I print without a brim and it works fine. I print 95% of my prints on the Satin sheet (both PLA and PETG).
I have one tip for bed adhesion - I've printed around 100 prints so far (or more), and I've only had 2 adhesion fails. Both were due to me touching the print sheet and thus getting my finger- grease / oil it. My tips:
- Isopropanol alcohol is in my opinion not good at removing these oils, it's merely better than nothing.
- Whenever I want to print something important (or if it's been a long time since), I wash the sheet with warm water and dish soap (just add a few drops and rub the sheet with my hand). I dry it thoroughly with paper towels and start printing.
PS: Now a days I always make sure to never touch the build area on the sheet, and I wipe the sheet off with a few drops between almost every print. A few drops + a paper towel is well worth the cost to prevent a failed print.

The MK4 has been my most reliable printer to date!
Im using the stock PEI smooth sheet that came with the printer - as long as its clean I've found model adhesion issues to be non existent.
