Prusa Slicer is blacked out
I recently updated Prusa slicer to 2.8.0 and now the 3d editor view is blacked out and help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure what you mean by "blacked out". Maybe you can attach a screenshot of what you are seeing.
I can see that the "Menu\Window\3D" and "Menu\Window\Preview" menu items (Ctrl-5 and Ctrl-6) are grayed out. The control keys don't work, but the menu items do if you select them. I imagine that this will be fixed (assuming that someone has reported it).
I just use the "3D editor view" and "Preview" buttons on the bottom left corner of the window.
