Prusa Link Garbage Password (Prusa I hate you)
Dear Prusa, If you are reading this, please update firmware so we no longer have to use the garbage auto generated password for Prusa Connect.
Like seriously, its reaaallly f#$^ing annoying.

Obviously not going to get much help from Prusa considering how long we have all had to put up with this crap.
Does anyone have a method to have the browser remember credentials or auto login? I have saved the credentials in my web browser for the URL but it wont auto login.

I don't think Prusa developers look at these forums so often. This is more of a community of Prusa owners helping other Prusa owners. The best way to contact Prusa developers is through their github. There's an open Feature Request to improve Prusalink logins which might be relevant to you.

The method Prusalink uses is called HTTP Authentication and it's one of the oldest (and most supported) webauth methods. However for very good reasons most password managers do NOT autofill HTTP Authentication dialog boxes. The feature request is to add support for modern methods like forms-based w/ cookies. I wouldn't hold your breath though. The firmware runs on an ESP32 and it's a miracle Prusa can pack as much as they do into that tiny microcontroller.
I'm copying and pasting from my password manager (1Password) into the dialog box. It will remember your login until you restart the browser. There are browser extensions to autofill HTTP authentication dialog boxes - e.g. Bitwarden - but I don't use or recommend these extensions.

You could try out PrusaConnect. It is cloud-based, so you need to understand and accept the risks of cloud-based services, but PrusaConnect supports the latest authentication methods including 2FA. It will autofill from any modern password manager (e.g. 1Password). You can do everything in PrusaConnect that is possible in Prusalink. The only downsides are always-on Internet and the implications of using a cloud service. It's not for everyone.

I did some further poking around and although 1Password doesn't autofill the dialog box, which is good and proper, if I wait for the dialog box to appear and then select Autofill from the 1Password menu it does automatically login into Prusalink. So it looks like 1Password and Bitwarden are the same here.

On the Mk4 and the Mini+, I use Brave browser... it autofills the password without any extras installed. As does Firefox (offers to save password on first use). Chrome doesn't though (Windows Ten).
What's the "very good reasons" that Chrome doesn't autofill this password?
FWIW, I just use a simple password manager. It's called a text file.
