nut and bolt check

I'm probably the only one that didn't know this but.....lol

I was puttng one of the silicone nozzle covers on mine last night and noticed the screws holding the heat sink fan on were lose.

So I checked all the M3 x10 screws I could see,reach and I got at least a 1/4 turn on all of them.

Yes it was the kit. I started using it in Dec. I don't use it every day though.

I posted something like this in another discussion recently. Exactly the same experience: kit built around nov/dec, not daily use, all screws needed a good retightening. It is probably worth having this added to regular maintenance. Also something not surprising given the amount of shaking that happens...

I just checked my screws. I built my printer a couple of months ago. Many didn't budge. A number of them tightened up about 1/16 of a turn. When I built my printer I took extra time and went back multiple times and slightly tightened the screws some more. I think that was helpful.You have to be careful at this point to remember which screws shouldn't be too tight. You don't want the eight (four on each side) screws holding the z-axis bearings together to be super tight because now that it's all assembled you can't tell how easily they slide on the smooth rods. Since they are compressing rubber, they should be okay to not be as tight as possible.

Sorry. I meant the y-axis bearing screws.

I checked the screws holding the motor on the x axis but left the mounts for the bearings alone. I checked the mounts for the belts on the y axis but just realized I didn't check the motor on the z axis..

Like chmax mentioned I'm going to add that to my routine maintenance..
