My printer turns off himself during the PETG printing process

Hi guys!

I have an often repeated mistake. My printer turned off after some printed layers whenever I chose PETG for the printing process. And after that, I have to pull the plug out of the outlet and wait for about a minute and then the printer starts working. And, if I print with PLA filament printer works very well. Maybe whoos had also the problem and has a solution? If need I can do a video how it how it happens. I think it can be a problem with power but it is only my guess... a guess of not professional.

I made the video to illustrate how it happens every time.

Looks like a general shut down from the PSU (power supply) as there seems to be no power to the lcd, microprocessor and controller board etc...

Do you have a DMM (digital multimeter) to measure and monitor the PSU voltage output?

Many PSU have overvoltage protection (crowbar), under voltage and over current monitoring and will shut down under these conditions.

With age and temperature these set points can change.

Other possibility is a bad connection but I would think it would happen at random and not be totally repetitive.

Best of luck with it. Any of it still under warranty?

I bought my printer in May 2023. I think the warranty is current but I don't know who can repair that because I'm in Ukraine now. How is it possible that PSU cannot work correctly if that is new and I didn't use it often? I will check it with DMM and I will write the result here.
Thank you!

Other possibility is a resettable fuse on the main board.

If that is the case the printer would come back to life by itself after a few minutes.

Monitoring the PSU with a DMM would still be the first thing I would do here to "split" the source of the issue between the PSU or the control board (after checking for loose connections or bad solder joint near the connectors and wires).
