MK4 kit with or without printable parts

A large number of Prusa enthusiasts are switching from an older Prusa 3D printer to the new MK4.

Since they already have a 3D printer, they are able to print all the necessary printable parts themselves.

This saves Prusa a lot of time and increases the lead time of orders.

In my opinion there should be 2 types of kits, one with all printed parts and one without printed parts.

In addition, it would also be a financial advantage if you ordered the kit without printed parts.

Maybe it's an idea for Prusa to consider.

Sounds reasonable, since they are doing exactly the same thing with upgrade kits

I'm planning on replacing several of the printed parts with Nylon, to take higher build chamber temperature, so this would have been a nice cost savings, for me.

I'm guessing from your post that the "kit" is coming with all "printable" parts included in the kit and that anyone ordering the kit today will not need to print anything to complete the kit.   I had assumed that was the case but did not remember seeing that being stated before.  I do agree that it would have been useful to have this as an option and simply download the stls from here https://www.printables.com/model/451501-mk4-printable-parts.

This saves Prusa a lot of time and increases the lead time of orders.

That assumes the lead time of the order is limited by printable parts, which most likely it is not. If Prusa needs 2x as many parts, they can take the next X printers off the output and use them for the factory. Temporary set back, sure, but those printers will quickly make up for the lost output.

The real problem, I suspect, is getting the non-printed parts... mostly the electronics. Look at Raspberry Pi for example, they can build EVERYTHING super fast with robots.... but the main processor chip (the SOC) they sometimes run out of and have to shut down the entire production line. There is huge demand, yet for the last two years they've been basically constantly out of stock everywhere. Why? That single chip. Tesla did a major software rewrite because of chip shortages.

Yes the full kit comes with everything needed to build the unit, including all printed parts.

I believe the upgrade kit doesnt come with printed parts.
