RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
On 12th April I paid for a product. The company took the funds from my card on that date. Fact.
I didn’t state that stole the money. That was your assumption derived from how you perceived my statement, which is your error. I said they took it from me, as they took other buyers payments. Maybe you see no difference - I do.
We knew it was a pay and deliver later, correct. All online purchases are. What we didn’t know is that we would have a very vague idea on when to expect items with no ordering and queuing process, which is current to this date. I stand by my previous comment as per the below.
We’re not going to agree, so best we end this here 😉
Either way, you chose purposely inflammatory language. You will get your printer if you keep your money in the game. We knew going in that it was a pay and deliver later.
I stand by my wording. It does not imply they stole my money at all - they cant steal something that was given to them in the first instance. I paid for the item, so when I refer to them taking my money, I'm referring to the fact that they processed my payment and 'took' it in full, even though they had no idea when they would be supplying me with the goods. I don't care which way you look at it, I see that as taking my money before fulfilling the agreement, knowing full well that you have no idea when that agreement would be fulfilled.
When I pre-order any other item from other manufacturers, my payment details are held on file, and then my card is charged when the item is being packed and prepared for shipping - in most cases a few days before. To this day Prusa cannot tell me where in the queue I am or when my item will ship - they can only provide a rough estimate of 'early July', even though the 'took' my money straight away back in early April!
They clearly knew there would be lengthy lead times, then they had their delays, for whatever reason. So they should have a system whereby payment details are held on file, and payment is then taken and clears a few days before dispatch, like many other companies. Instead they took full payment up front, then kept all their customers in the dark about when they would actually receive anything at all. In my book that's the wrong way to do business. I've waited this long, so will no doubt continue to wait, but I would certainly think twice before pre-ordering from Prusa in the future.
I am not sure I would agree with that wording. Took implies stole. You can get it back if you request a refund or wait for the product.
Man I’m getting really tired of waiting now - they took my money 2.5 months ago!!

Read my follow-up post. I apologize. I have had a rough week, and this is no reason to become irritated with you.

I think it is a fair statement, yes they took money for goods....nothing wrong with that...

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
lol we all get like that with prusa he must know how we feel he just does not reply to any of us
RE:
As the XL order holders roll their eyes at the delays getting M4 kits...
So I'm 1681317XXX so about 18:43 Prague time.
While the delays are not fun, my major issue is that responding instantly to the email about the kit launch has me this far down the shipping list. No movement yet on my order. The fourth is the last big stretch of time I have until the end of Sept to work with these things. So I'll get a Mk4 kit, XL, and 3.9 upgrade years and months after I ordered them, and exactly when I don't have time to deal with them...
Maybe in honor of Stockholm Syndrome we call this Prague Syndrome..
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Ordered a MK4 kit mid May and looking at delivery sometime mid August as it looks right now
Now, should I keep the preorder or just cancel and get a P1P that I can have at home this very week?
These long waiting times are killing me and I have stuff to print my Mini+ just can't handle :-/
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I have a friend who cancelled his MK4 fully assembled purchase to get a P1P. He says it's insanely fast, and insanely loud. He's had to move that one printer to his garage because it bangs so loudly nobody can concentrate on anything while it's running.
I am a huge fan of silence, so knowing this, I'll continue to wait for my MK4 upgrade kit.
If you want a larger printer than the mini, I just recently assembled a Creality printer for another friend, and was impressed with how inexpensive, how fast it assembled, and how good the prints came out of that printer. It was pretty slow though. That might be a way to get your work done without much of a sacrifice. You can always toss the Creality in the trash when your MK4 shows up! 🙂
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
It is a lot louder than an MK3 that is 4 years old and needs new bearings. Fast? That is in the eyes of the beholder. It is faster but does weaken the print a little.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
It's actually the reports of it being very loud that put me off of the X1 and back on to the MK4 (if it ever turns up!!!)

The X1 and X1C are both noisy. I would not recommend them for in your home.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Acording to what you write my order should be send 18.07.
Order from 17:38 send 26.06
Order from 17:42 send 27.06
It is just my estimates.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Sent too. Ordered at 17:51 - 4678

How can you get an estimate of any description unless you have exact order numbers and distributions by each hour of each day?
Order frequency wouldn't be consistent for every hour over every day, so I believe it is not possible to even arrive at a reasonable estimate unless this information is known.
They will ship eventually......
RE:
It is just a estimate based on what i read. I know the data is not accurate but i was just curious how fast they are shipping.
17:38 to 17:42 is 4 minutes Apart yet it took them 1 day to ship. This is how much order they have.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
my order was created on april 12th 19:27, and first they told me my order would be dispatched around the start of the second half of July. one day later they told me it would be in week 28 which would be between the 10th and 14th of july.
which would also mean that near to nothing was ordered betweek 19:27 and midnight on the 12th. most orders following these statements must have taken place from 17:30 to 19:27. but who knows. definitly not us.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Mine just just after 20:00 on the 12th, and I was told via chat that my kit is in the current batch thats due to go out early July.
Its pot luck - even the reps via chat don't know what's going on.
