You mean the planetary gears? But for this operation you don't have to disassemble the extruder. Just the screw holding the lever. The cover plate stays on.

I just can't get to the tension lever mounting bolt, my transmission cover only has three bolt holes. There is no hole in the place of the tension lever screw and I have to remove the cover. And when handling an open gearbox, anything can move. Hence the recommendation on the calibration of the gearbox.
