Manual color change requires fast reflexes
I've had my MK4 for about six months and have finally gotten around to printing using multiple colors. In the slicer I added a couple of color changes with prime after color change, to make a model with three different colors. It worked perfectly. At each color change it paused, giving me the opportunity to change the filament, and then continued exactly where it left off. The prints look great.
The one thing that I didn't like is that after I confirmed that the new filament color was correct, it purged an additional couple of inches of filament before continuing to print. I had plenty of time to pull off the filament that was extruded before I confirmed the color because it was waiting for me to confirm, but I had very little time to pull off the last couple of inches. Luckily the head was in the front right corner, and the two inches were in a loop, so I had something to grab.It was like the normal purge that happens at the start of the print, but with this purge, the head is an inch or so above the build plate.
Does this bother anyone else? I'm thinking that I would like an extra second or so before the printing continues to pull off the purged material.
Also, Is there a way to get the printer to beep or something to let me know that it's ready for a filament change?

It was the filament change purge that got me to buy an MMU. One way that I got to help the problem was when it purges and asks if OK to continue, do not remove the purge up to that point, instead hold it. the extra bit it purges will then be attached to it and can be pulled away.
On the printer Settings > User Interface > Sound Mode

Thank you for that excellent suggestion about the purge. I will do that.
I'll look at the sound mode settings. Maybe I have something turned off.
