Layer shifts, blobbing, over-extrusion: tearing my hair out - I'm an idiot

So, for a few weeks now, since the IS 5.0 RC firmware came out, I've been experiencing a few issues with my prints. (See this, this and this, and please check out the Github issues associated)

And here are some examples that had me beyond frustrated:

I went back to 5.0 Alpha and thought I'd sorted it, then...

This temp tower did NOT get any better!

I was beginning to regret my first 3d printer purchase. I was getting v. frustrated at the amount of filament (and time) I was wasting. I switched back from PETG CF to Prusament PLA and tried again. Still no dice:

So, I tried something slightly different. I upgraded my printer to the latest 5.0 RC firmware again but this time, I did a full factory reset. I've not tried this before and found something I'd not seen - when it asked me to confirm there was a USB with latest firmware inserted and it started the reset, it also decided to do an upgrade of the WiFi module:

I then went through all of the initial configuration and got it back to working state. Once done, I decided to switch back to the standard Prusa 0.4 nozzle too so I had a complete standard machine again. It was at this point I discovered a slight problem - my nozzle was loose. I don't know how but my 0.6mm X nozzle had worked loose from the heatblock, meaning it was moving around slightly. This obviously was causing issues with levelling, extrusion, etc. and explained a number of the issues I was having. In turn, this caused me to go over the printer from top to bottom again to see if anything else was amiss. At which point I noticed my self-inflicted fail (and why I'm an idiot): I had been trying to print PLA on a textured sheet, and hence it wasn't layer shift from the nozzle but from the print moving on the bed.

Now, since I've fixed the nozzle (and remembered to use the right bed again!) my prints are back to being perfect. I'm not experiencing any issues with prints corrupting, the machine rebooting mid-print or any other issues. I'm printing with the 0.6 X nozzle with exceptional results.

A lesson and a theory:

Always go back to basics, check stuff and don't assume.

Has anyone else who's experiencing issues with OTA prints through Connect/Link tried a hard reset and WiFi upgrade? This seems to have fixed my issues (for now?)
