Issue with first Layer

I have this issue with the first layer on my MK4. It appears after upgrading to the latest firmware 5.1.2

I did a recalibration of the load cell sensor. When I was asked to tab the sensor, I did it soft, just tipping with my finger on the nozzle. Then I got the message that I did not tab the nozzle or did it too early. I repeat the step and then pushing harder and got a success message.

If I turn the printer off and on and read the sensor value, I get something about 12220. Anyway, after these steps, I start printing a test with the result above.

I assume that there is something wrong with my load cell sensor.

Surprisingly, after the failed print, I read the sensor value again and this time I read ~350, but the value increases the cooler the nozzle gets. After an off / on sequence, the value is 12200 again, even if the nozzle is still hot.

Do you have any suggestions what I can do to solve this?

Hi, did you checked somehow that you have properly working thermistors?

I don't think that the thermistor is broken. It passes all tests, and in addition to that most of the first layer is good, only the areas in the center and bottom left are bad. Plus, if I repeat the print, I get the same result.

What filament is this?  PLA doesn't stick so well to textured sheets, especially if new, insufficiently cleaned, or if a previous PETG print has left residues.

You say you get the same result on repeat, is the poor adhesion in the same places?

Carefully sand the textured sheet with the rough side of a dish sponge and see the wonders. Use a new dry sponge, don't apply too much pressure when sanding, and then wash the plate with IPA. The cloth will get a little dull, but that's okay and you won't recognize anything on the print.

Is the poor adhesion always in the same places?

In that case the first suspect is the print sheet.  A thorough scrub with dishwashing detergent and HOT water concentrating on those areas with an old fashioned toothbrush would be my first recourse.  If that doesn't work then try the other side of the sheet.

We always suggest the problem is dirty fingerprints, which it often is, but there can be other causes.  If you are using aerosols in the same room, or spraying paint, laying fibreglass, arc welding ... anything that creates dust, smoke, spray... You get the idea. The bed needs to be clean.

Unbelievable, but you're right. Cleaning the print sheet solved it.

Thank you very much.
