so are you saying the only thing really making a difference in the speed is slicer changes?

RE: Is it really faster out of the box?

I have a Mini+ in 2021 and got a MK4 a couple weeks ago.    I don't print that much, probably 4~5 spools of PETG so far on the Mini+.    I print the same part on both printers using the same settings, usually with IS turned on.   Off the top of my head, I think the MK4 is 10~20% faster than the Mini+.   The heatup and calibration phase is faster and the xy movement is also faster on the MK4.

Having a 2nd printer is like having two monitors.  I wonder why I haven't done it sooner.    I used to print to the Mini+ via Octoprint but I've gotten used to using the built in PrusaLink on both the Mini+ and MK4.   For me, the biggest advantage so far of having the MK4 is the larger print area to print parts that simply won't fit on the Mini+.  In the future I also like to explore printing more exotic materials with the MK4.

Just started a print on both the Mini+ and MK4 with the same settings.   The object  took up the entire Mini+ print bed.   Mini+ time is 11h 14m, MK4 is 10h 34m.  So Mk4 is about 6% faster.   Time to print after uploading vis PrusaLink.  Mini+ is 6m 50s.  MK4 is 5m 58s.
