I am over $400 additional dollars since I took delivery in replacement parts due to the horrible printer and horrible tech support blaming me on the problems

FYI, my MK4 + Enclosure kit was shipped via FedEx and I got it all without delay or extra charges. Except about a week later I got a bill from FedEx for the customs charge. I was really surprised that FedEx delivered and then billed, but that is what happened to me. YMMV.

My MK4 was shipped to Iowa, USA and the total was $847 ($799 + shipping). I did not pay any additional duties or customs fees, nor was a broker assigned - it was just a normal old delivery to my house. I was aware that customs was a possibility, but it didn't come up. 

DHL was my carrier, if that matters at all.

I find it interesting that those, me included, that used DHL as the delivery service aren't asset the duty fee even though the cost was over the $800 limit. While others using other delivery services are being charged.

Ah. Is that the explanation? That would explain it, but how could that be?

I just discovered this today when I got an email from DHL wanting $43 before they will deliver my MK4 kit.  I've decided this is total BS and they can just return the thing to Prusa and I won't get a new printer; the email says if not paid in five days it'll get returned to the sender.  Yeah it's "only $43" but for me it's the principle.  I go out of my way to avoid sales taxes and other BS fees that governments force on us, and this way I avoid giving them $43 AND I save myself a bunch of money by NOT getting a new printer that I don't REALLY need anyway.

Taxation of any kind is theft.  Period.

Taxation of any kind is theft? So you are against massively subsidizing the US road network (incl. interstate) and having an army of any kind? And the police should be privatized presumably. Financed by bribes or working only for those who pay upfront for safety?

Well so here's the thing... the US road network is supposed to be supported by taxes and stuff.  In fact, it's the states that are supposed to handle it.  But they don't.  Our road network is crumbling from neglect.  States are spending the money on anything BUT the roads.  It's a giant mess.

Incorrect and childish. You are the government. Cheating on taxes is theft, from everyone, you and me included.

Sell your new printer unopened, tariff added. Then leave this forum, join an anti-tax forum, move to Antarctica. Problem solved.
