Fixed for now... but how long before it breaks again???

about $100 and a few weeks later, i got my MK4 fixed. i just wonder how long it will last until it becomes a hot piece of garbage again. I am thankful that my Prusa MK3 and Prusa MINI are rock solid printing machines to print replacement parts for the MK4 that maybe prints 1 out of 100 good prints.

UGH.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

New piece printed to replaced melted part

Everything assembled, ready to print (crossing my fingers)

What kind of a nozzle were you using there? I mean, was it one of the long Nextruder nozzles or the V6 adapter and a V6?

You seem to have all sorts of melty parts there. That's not normal. Are you operating the printer in a heated chamber or is that melting from contact with the blob of oozed filament?

The white melted filament coming out of the top of the heater block means that you are not using the standard Prusa nozzle for the printer because that has a continuous metal tube that goes much further up. If you are using the V6 adaptor then it seems that you may not have adequately heat tightened the nozzle in place.

That's strange then. How did the filament blob get to the heat-break? Was the heatbreak tube cracked?

Tube and nozzle are still usable, so not sure.

Pretty much anything that can go wrong with this printer does go wrong. I have to rely on my MK3 for long overnight prints now.

I love the print quality of the MK4... But I just don't understand why it always breaks in some way.

Yes, I do run the self diagnostics and it passes and run only Prusa Filament.

Makes me glad I printed all my parts in abs.   But yeah that doesn't seem normal.

The part that melted was the factory part from Prusa. I did print the replacement in ABS
