Factory reset - any problems?
Hi Al.... My MK4 has been pritng well but suddenly ever time I tyr to print 3 different .stl files from Thiniverse the toolhead drags the filamner wich was layingont eh bed all over the bed.
I changed the Layer Height from .2 to .3mm but that didn't help.
I'm considering performing a Factory reset.
Does that create its own problems?
What's the downside to a factory reset?
Or might you please share any other settings changes you've found helpful when the tool-head drags filament all over the bed?
Thank you!
RE: Factory reset - any problems?
Is your nozzle clean? Built up filament on the nozzle can cause the bed probing to be inaccurate.
RE: Factory reset - any problems?
Hi Brian,
Thanks for your reply. It purges well and I always swipe the nozzle with nose-pliers before every print. It also does that self-scrubbing before every print. I've used 4 different PLA filament reels.
RE: Factory reset - any problems?
Pliers could deform and damage the nozzle. Prusa recommends a brass brush which is what I use.
Can you upload an picture of your nozzle, from the side and bottom?
RE: Factory reset - any problems?
I don't think that swiping the nozzle with nose-pliers will damage it unless you apply a desmesurate force. Likewise, using a brass brush may scratch a brass nozzle.but it takes very strong brush strokes to make visible marks. Using these tools with common sense, both methods are harmless.
