Duck with thin legs..........

Hi  All,  I have a large Duck to print...not a problem. The problems start when I want to reduce the Duck size to say 25%. It prints OK.  BUT the thin legs break easily.... Is there a way in the Prusa slicer to change the `Infill` settings to change the leg section to solid or 80%......... then revert back to 20% same as I started the print.       If nothing is available can the PRUSA Slicer team have a look at this problem......Thanks from down under NZ

Hi, Thanks for the info. will try..... So if `perimeter walls` can be increased over a specific height of the duck legs, then revert back to original settings... That would also be great........... Q. Where do I send the problem to the ( Prusa Slicer ) development team ?

The existing PrusaSlicer will do what you want.  Select your model, right-click and add a modifier ("generic box" will probably work for what you are doing).  Select the box, then Scale and Move it so that it covers the legs but not the rest of the model.  With the box selected, find the "generic box" item in the right-hand pane of PrusaSlicer, click the Settings (gear) icon, and choose "layers and perimeters".   Set the values you want for the area within the box.  Everything outside the box will still use the standard Print Settings.

yes, just use a modifier to change the infill percentage in that area.  Although I will point out that greater infill doesnt generally make a part stronger, more perimeters do that.  100% infill can actually make an area more brittle.

It sounds like you need to review or become familiar at least with the basics of using PS.  The PS knowledge base is located here https://help.prusa3d.com/category/prusaslicer_204

If you post your Prusa Slicer project (file>Save project as) and take the resulting .3mf file, ZIP it up and attach it here.  Must be zipped or the forum will just silently not attach it.

With a project people can slice and  check the preview and all the settings you are using.

You don't; that's also a feature within the modifier system so the problem is already solved.

Cheerio,

Also possible.  Right click on the part, select Height Range Modifier. But it will do that for that height range for the whole model. If you want to do it only for the legs, the general Modifier approach mentioned above is the way to go, just lift the modifier up from the sheet to get the proper height range.
