6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Just a data point: I powered up my MK4 with the new 6.0.0 bbf file on the USB stick, it noticed the new firmware and asked to install it, that worked OK, then it noticed the wifi firmware needed updating, and I said "go ahead" and it got about 2/3 of the way through step 3/3 and said "firmware flashing failed". Yikes!
I dove down into the network > wifi menus and found the setup wifi entry and tried again, and fortunately this time it worked. The MK4 is talking prusalink again via wifi.
Timing issue in the flashing code? Who knows?
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
I just finished the 6.0.0 upgrade on my MK4 and I can't get the ESP firmware to flash, I get an error each time. At the first step, it tries for 5 seconds or so, then says "Firmware update failed" and all I can do is leave that screen. Tried again after a full restart and I just get the same error.
Help!
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
I didn't restart my MK4 after it failed, I just dove directly into the network menu and retried the wifi install. Maybe it only works on the 2nd attempt? Who knows?
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Me too, but when that failed I thought maybe a reboot would help, but nope. 🙁
I plugged in ethernet and it still can't connect to Prusa Connect though, so maybe something else is going on. Maybe I need a factory reset...
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Same issue with wi-fi flash happened to me and starting wi-fi setup again from settings/network/wi-fi directly after the failure fixed the problem.
Thanks @tom-horsley for this hint.
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Both of my MK4s said they would update, but never did. After a couple of reboots and forcing the flash through Prusa Connect, it finally flashed
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Flashing failed also on my MK4 .... at the first atempt.
Just restarted the printer and it worked well, with the same stick.
Also Wifi-Setup was working.
Now the BUT .... Wifi now is that extemely slow, it is almost unusable. It was slow before, but still OK, but now 🙁
Printer is printing now, but later I will try to reinstall Wifi in the printers menu, hope that will help.
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
OK, works again after switching the printer of instead of restarting it with the restart-button.
Wifi as slow as usual 🙂
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Oh snap, mine just worked after cycling power as well! That's the one thing left I didn't try, I was just resetting from the button the control panel!
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Very weird...
Mine did not connect - then I tried the other wlan with a different key - it worked!
I uploaded the original WLAN settings file - stopped working - and this is the file i used before the flash when installed it...
It seems that the key has an issue in the new ESP FW.
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
solved: the new firmware doesn't like the WPA3 anymore - if i switch back to WPA2 it's working...
WPA3 transition does not help, it seems that the FW has a bug 🙁

RE:
Mine does not work again. Sometimes it does, sometimes not, all in all not usable anymore 🙁
I use WPA2 already, so that seems not to be the main problem (for me).
Am switching to LAN now ....
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
I'm having the same issue.
I have checked, doublechecked that the module is correctly installed.
But flashing wifi firmware always fails at step 1.
RE: 6.0.0 wifi firmware flashing failed
Encountered the same issue after upgrading to 6.0.0
ESP FW update failed at step 2 - I already had WiFi configured befofe FW update so I thought that I do not need to set it up again... and I was wrong.
I filled in WiFi connection configuration parameters (SSID, pass) in .ini file on the USB disk and even after that it kept failing multiple times in step 2 or somewhere in the middle of step 3.
After about 5 tries it finished successfully.
