5.1.3 Firmware for the MK4 is OUT!

Summary

  • Printer type check on startup

This is a stable release of the firmware 5.1.3 for MK4/MK3.9 with improved troubleshooting. This release is meant as a base for future releases. If your printer is already calibrated and printing, you can skip this update.

Printer type check on startup

During startup, the printer checks available hardware and if the installed firmware doesn't match the hardware, the user will be asked to flash the correct firmware using the USB flash drive. The correct firmware can be always downloaded from help.prusa3d.com

RE: 5.1.3 Firmware for the MK4 is OUT!

I just started using Prusa Connect yesterday - and I've only done about 18 prints since getting my MK4 2 weeks ago.  This morning I tried to upload a bgcode file to Prusa Connect, then download to the printer.  First it asked me to reload Prusa Connect because of an update (I assume to the Connect software).  I started the upload, and Connect successfully uploaded the file to "the cloud", then hung with the progress bar at 50% and "Waiting..." above it.  The MK4 network page for Connect on the control panel showed "Connecting" and "Bug" (this is all from memory so sorry for inaccuracies).  I disabled and re-enabled Connect from the printer but no change.  I resorted to PrusaLink to do the print - Connect is showing the print progress fine.

I don't know if this functionality was working before the Connect change.  I haven't installed this new firmware 5.1.3 yet - would it potentially resolve this issue?

Sorry for the noise - I found this thread after doing more searching:  https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/662382/ - in short this is a pre-existing issue related to the length of the filename.

I'm having tons of problems with this firmware. Any gcode that I made before I updated to PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 and started generating bgcode will not print anymore. The printer starts cranking out loud noises as it rams into the edges of the x axis and spitting out filament while the hotend is inches above the bed. Is no one else having issues with this?

Thanks for this was a headscracher for me, renamed my files in connect and resend them to the printer and it worked. Hope they fix this soon

Well, I upgraded the printer to the 5.1.3 firmware and, after printing, the device web server crashed again.  Prusa Connect says the printer is offline.  The printer's screen is acting like all is well, but I cannot connect to the printer via the WiFi network.  I've been having this problem off and on since I got the printer.  Changing the network (i.e. temporarily plugging in an ethernet cable) causes everything to start working again without a reboot (at least, it did before this new firmware, I haven't tried this with the new firmware).
