RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
16801162XX March 30th order for i3 MK3/S/+ to MK4 full upgrade kit.
The shipping date was June so in preparation for the upgrade kit arriving I printed all the parts, then the shipping date changed to late July. On 13th July all the printable parts were changed from R1 to R2 or R3, and on 17th July the gcode’s for the upgrade were released, so I printed these ready for the arrival of the kit. I now have two boxes of parts, R1 & R2/R3.
We’re now in August with no upgrade kit and no shipping information for the kit. Prusa says “After the production of MK4 upgrades started, we discovered that some of the old revisions of the MK3 are not fully compatible with the upgrade. We already have a solution, but we need some time to implement it in production. Until then, we are shipping the upgrade only to customers who own (according to our database) a compatible printer.” I purchased my MK3S+ August 2021, it’s only 2 years old, surely it must be compatible for the upgrade, so where is my kit.
With shipping information (when available) that has no meaning as it keeps changing and with the number of problems with the MK4 now being reported on the forum I’m beginning to wonder if it’s worth it.
I’m so close to pressing the cancel order button.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
All this talk about due diligence and making sure we get a working upgrade is BS this should have been done prior to offering the kit and even more so before full payments were taken, the honest thing to have done was a small deposit be requested with full payment taken prior to shipping, at least this way we don't end up feeling like we've been taken for a ride for a free loan.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
I am not a manufacturer, but I think this is one of the most challenging things a business can try. You have a RepRap printer that many have modified, and even the ones that are not may have different parts. Now, you are making an upgrade to go a new model. It creates variables that are difficult to account for when upgrading.
They should communicate more. There is a lot we do not know. Heck, we do not even know if it has started shipping yet. Except for a few posts on Reddit and Discord, It is pretty quiet.
I’m guessing people thought Prusa was doing their “due diligence” with delay after delay. I know I certainly thought they had done it.
Would you rather have an upgrade that will not work? They do their due diligence to fix a problem if reports are correct. I would be patient and wait for the fix.
It's now July 31st. I ordered the MK4 upgrade on day one and I have nothing in my hand to show for it.
This is not how you treat loyal customers. There should be more transparency on the orders.
Nothing but empty promises.

I ordered mine on 3/29/2023 and have not heard anything about shipping. However my 3S+ is still working as good as ever so I'll sit back and wait. No sense getting your blood pressure up over delivery.

I´m in the same situation. I cannot agree with this sort of Prusa bussines, I´ve fully paid for upgrade when they - in fact -promised to send it in june. So now they have my money for more then 4 months and I have - nothing. Only some promises. And one thing more - for nearly same price as prusas upgrade I can get whole new printer K1 - and immediately after ordering. Should I wait for upgrade?

Ordering a K1 will be the worst mistake you can make. Review the concerns of purchases on that one. You may have to search a little, but they are out there, and they are significant. They do not have a "Creality Forum" for us to look for targeted information.
I own an MK4 that I built from a kit. I have had zero issues. Not one. I have read the concerns some have. I believe them but I have experienced them.
I also am pending a full MK4 upgrade. I am tempted to just upgrade mine to a new printer. My Mk3S+ is a Mk3 that has been upgraded twice. It is tough to take into account all of the upgrades that people have done on their own and the variation of parts that might be a part of a print. Maybe Mk3 to Mk4 is too far of an upgrade path. I will wait for a word from Prusa to make that decision.

RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
I caved and bowed out of the upgrade waiting game. I switched my order to the black/orange MK4 kit last night and it shipped this morning.
They added a free 1kg spool of PLA when it shipped which is appreciated.
I'm going to keep my MK3S+/MMU2S as well until there has been a few months of the MMU3 being out for the MK4.
16801273XX March 29th order here. Also still waiting.
At this point in the waiting game, among the issues I take with all of this, is that it appears some of the loyal Prusa owners were essentially alpha testers for the MK4 upgrade kit. I can't conceive of a situation where they weren't able to vet the MK4 upgrade on the configurations that they discovered had problems "After the production of MK4 upgrades started".
As well as Prusa is not at the very least being overcommunicative if they are forced to keep pushing the ship date further and further back. Maybe I'm just not seeing it anywhere, but the lack of any solid info from Prusa is extremely frustrating. Tell us you had a supplies order intercepted at the Customs Administration, that the factory was closed for some reason, or that a critical parts supplier did X to cause delays. Something better than moving the ship date estimate over and over again, then having to remove it altogether. Chat reps appear to regurgitate the same info, which isn't any different.
I am among those who have a MK3 with a silver PSU, and have done the MMU2S upgrade kit, then MK3/S to MK3S+ upgrade path. I had to select silver PSU I believe when I ordered the MK3S+ upgrade. I can't be the only one who never had an inkling that the older silver PSU could be a detractor later on in my ownership.
If you've read this far, I asked earlier if there was any discount being offered on a MK4 kit for those in our situation. I was told no, which was disappointing but I guess not surprising for now. They at least said if I edited my order to add a MK4 kit and removed the MK4 upgrade, that I would keep my order date priority and a full kit should "be shipped very fast". Maybe the extra ~$220 would be worth it to eliminate the waiting game, and remove the possibility of further issues with my hardware that has clearly not aged well? I also don't want to do the upgrade and then the older PSU fails in a few months, and it's some crazy headache to replace it.
Staying the course for now and hoping something significant happens this week 😬

RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
I just changed my order to a MK4 kit instead of the upgrade and spent an additional $230. I got shipping information within 30 minutes after I made the edit to my order.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
So, now I have MK3S+ and K1 side by side. I must say, ordering K1 was NOT mistake. This printer is pretty good. Yes, this printer needs some tuning, but print quality is really good. The great advantage of Prusa printer is excellent slicer profile( better say profiles). Will see what can do MK4 after my upgrade arrives - if it arrives. But for me now K1 is better than MK3.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
I see that the shipping times optimism has spread to the online chat - it’s been 9 mins for the past 25…

This is not in concordance with many of the reviews and YouTube Videos. For fine details, the Mk4 is superior.

So I’ve just got off the online chat. I was specifically asked whether my printer had the black or silver PSU (black, upgraded from silver), and if it had soldered or scre terminal heated cables (the latter, from day 1). So it would appear that they don’t know what printer spec you originally had from their records. So I’d be on to the chat and let them know if I were you. 🤔😊

I came back to edit - too late:
The K1 is a decent printer, but arguing it is superior is probably not a very common belief.

RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
I’ve just cancelled my MK4 upgrade kit and changed it fir a MK4 in kit form I saw someone post that they’ed had there’s posted within a day of changing so does anyone know if Prusa are doing this across the board? I ordered my upgrade on 23rd May so are Prusa counting the 7 weeks from my original order date as there’s no shipping info on my order just says deposit paid.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
That was me. I ordered my upgrade on March 29th and switched it to a mk4 kit. Support says that your order date will not change. Yours should ship the week of August 28th. Good luck.
RE: 3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?
How much more did you pay?

I placed my order on the 30/3/23
Why does nobody in the company have the curtesy to keep their customers updated
I have just spoken to the chat and this is their responce
Giuliano 08:15
we are currently shipping the MK4 upgrades, however there's currently an ongoing investigation, as we found out that some of the olders MK3 have some parts that are incompatible
Dave Martin 08:15
My mk3s + kit was purchaced in 3/4/2022
Giuliano 08:16
this investigation unfortunately is slowing down the shipment of all the upgrades, so we don't have an estimation for them
Dave Martin 08:16
what is the issue
Giuliano 08:17
your MK3 is new enough then and is not affected by this issue of incompatibility, however the slower pace of the shipments concerns all the orders
Dave Martin 08:18
so I am not going to know when it is likely to shipped even though my printer is not affected
Giuliano 08:19
unfortunately at the moment we don't have any lead time available for the upgrade kits
