RE: 10mm Rods for all Axes
Asking what's perhaps a bad question.
Fairly early on with my MK3S+, I went with drylin bearings - mostly because the assembly directions at the time said to more or less not bother with lubrication and that the bearings were OK from the factory. That wasn't the case, from what I saw here, so had to completely tear down so while doing that decided to go with Drylins.
So now it's MK4 upgrade time (sorry, building for me is more fun than printing). Is it really better to retain the ball bearings if they're properly lubed?
Essentially, was my choice a bad one? And should I revert? Part of what's driving this is the apparent lack of LM10LUU bearings from anyone other than AliExpress, who I kind of don't trust.
RE: 10mm Rods for all Axes
With my MK3S+ I stuck with the provided bearings but I greased them even though the manual stated it wasn't needed.
Every so often I would grease the rods a little and wipe away any excess at the rod ends when moving the carriage back and forth across it to spread out the grease.
Never had any issues.
