Terrific first layer w/minimal warping on MK4

I Thought I'd share a printing success since more often people just post their failures!

A difficult thing to print is the Tool box on Printables, with PLA on the textured sheet. Usually, the textured sheet isn't great for PLA, and the tool box is especially problematic due to it's large, flat surface. On the MK3s, one of the corners would usually lift off and warp, ruining the print.

On the MK4, I attempted the print with the following setup:

  • Super clean sheet (cleaned with plenty of IPA and a paper towel)
  • Bed temp 70º
  • In PrusaSlicer, Z offset -0.025mm
  • Jessie PLA
  • Input Shaper Alpha (fast print), default settings aside from above

To my surprise, both the top and bottom pieces turned out great on the first try. There is very slight warping on one of the corners on the bottom piece (in the picture, it's on the left, but hard to see), and no discernible warping on the top piece.

So far, the MK4's loadcell sensor based leveling has worked great, and the freedom to adjust the Z offset in PrusaSlicer for specific prints is a huge advantage over the MK3. Of course, Z offset could also be adjusted on the MK3, but with more risk and less reliable results, since manual Z offset calibration provides a less consistent starting point when making such fine adjustments.
