Prusament PETG V0 has 10x the stringing than the normal PETG

When doing the first PETG print on a brand new MK4 the result was fantastic considering that I used the default 0.15mm Quality settings but when doing the second print of the same part but with PETG V0 there is a lot more stringing.

If anyone had a similar issue I'd love to hear what setting fixed or at least helped with that and yes I changed to PETG V0 in Prusaslicer.

Same here. Same piece on the MK3S+ no stringing. The MK4 config needs some more tuning on PETG.

I have no own experience yet with this material yet, but why do you not read the Prusa Product description? Is says:

"This filament needs to be kept as dry as possible as it's more hygroscopic, compared to regular PETG. If you can't keep the filament dry, we suggest drying it before use for 6 hours at 55 °C."

No reason to blame the printer...

Agree on the keep dry aspect as I'm using Prusa printers since the first one came out 😉 I can assure you this PETG was dry as I printed all te upgrade parts with it the day before on my MK3S+ without a glitch. I did set the Prusaslicer now to use the 'Input Shaper" model and the results are better (and faster) but not of the same level as the MK3S+.

So it has been exposed for 24 hours without drying?  It's not unusual for the second half of a long print to show degredation even when started dry...

Cheerio,

I have to come back on this as I now have tried some prints with 20 degrees less (220 hot end instead of suggested 240). All prints are perfect now with the normal amounts of stringing and no blobs. Could be a thermistor broken, error reading or firmware AD conversion error. As I can't measure the actual hot end temperature I can't say what is wrong. I only know that lowering the temperature in prusaslicer for PET and PETG did the job.

I tried new PETG VO on an MK3S+ using the corresponding default PETG VO profile within Prusa-Slicer to print a raspberrypi-case. Worked like a charm. No change necessary. No stringing.
