Poor print quality

Hi,

after 2 years on no 3D printing, I came from sidewinder x1, I decide to buy a Prusa Mk4 assembly.

3 evenings later after delivery the printer was assembled and turned on, all test passed not error reported.

I unpacked the Prusament, sliced a first layer test model with Pruse slicer and stared the first printing to check printing quality.

The result makes me a bit disappointed. But not put the head on the ground stared checking.

Things i checked:

  1. Increase the tightness on both belts
  2. Disassembled the Bed and reassembled

But no changes.

I hope someboday give me some tips what i can check eles.

Backside, looking good so far.

front side, looks like 2  triangle left one looks good, right one feels rough

RE: Poor print quality

Why you don’t print just the model you want to print instead of stupid first layer tests?

I don’t understand people who care about how the first layer looks. If the final result ist ok, why should I worry about something like on your picture.

I don't understand people who don't want the first layer to be perfect...

Sometimes the first layer is not the bottom but the top of an object... then it needs to be perfect...

RE: Poor print quality

You are right, but anyway I would print a real model and not just the layer test.

Seems like the adhesion is not perfect in the corner, so to improve the result, I would clean the sheet with hot water and some dish soap and a sponge and afterwards with alcohol.

Plenty of fingerprints visible on the print sheet.  Give it a thorough clean and try again.

Cheerio,

RE: Poor print quality

The first thing I do when I have any problems with adhesion is clean with dishwashing liquid, the hard side of the kitchen sponge and lukewarm water.

This helps in 99.9%.

If only to rule out these causes. Always start with the simplest. 😉
