Lock for Enclosure for MK4
Hi All,
Our MK4 in its enclosure will be in a room accessible by the public.
Most people will act responsibly but for that one who doesn't we're considering adding a lock to to the enclosure.
Has anyone purchased a "cabinet lock" or something similar to that to a Prusa Enclosure?
Thank you so much.
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
Not done it myself but if it is a Prusa enclosure then probably easiest to just use the Prusa enclosure lock. https://www.prusa3d.com/en/product/mechanical-lock-for-original-prusa-enclosure/
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
This is exactly what these interviewers are waiting for. Instead of trying a little and searching, they stuff a completely useless question here and expect someone to serve it to them "on a silver platter". And there's always someone who does. The same applies to the same questioner's question about door magnets. If only he had combined these two questions into one and not created more unnecessary threads. If someone asks about a problem and it can be seen that he did something himself to solve the problem, I have nothing against answering (that is, if I know the solution), but here it is obvious that he did not even try to find something.
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
Actually I had not realised who was asking the question, if I had I would not have bothered replying, to see why read this thread: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-original-prusa-i3-mk4-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/enclsoure-not-fit-for-mk4/
The guy seems to have a major aversion to reading instructions.
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
That link is helpful especially the instructions.
Thank you.
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
The question is, if you want to lock the printer not to be stolen, or to lock it during print, not to be touched. Because I doubt that the lock will stop the thief (would guess that brute power will win) and locked enclosure will not allow printing some materials like PLA.
RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
The prusa search tool seems quite obtuse at times. you almost need to know what the answer is, before you can ask the right question...
Please keep this forum above the level of others,
If a snarky response comes to mind, please keep it there and move on to another thread.
this is a family forum, please keep it that way.

RE: Lock for Enclosure for MK4
Milos... That's good to know. We would probably not print if it was locked, just during the times when we're not in the public space with the printer powered off. Thank you.

Thanks Joan, we don't want this to become a Linux forum!
