Loadcell passes self test but 1st level prints are failing

I just finished upgrading my MK3S+ to the MK4. I’m experiencing issues with the prints because the nozzle will not go low enough to get good adhesion. It will print properly in some areas and in others the nozzle is too high the filament just deposits out and onto the sheet, verses being extruded directly against the print bed. Since the mesh bed leveling is done automatically, I have no way to fine tune this extrusion height the way I would on my MK3S+.

What do I do, since the Loadcell is passing the self test, but it’s clearly not properly detecting the height??

Hi, I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?

You got a full MK3 to MK4  upgrade kit? I didn't think those were shipping for a while.

In any case, I have a new MK4 and have had a few issues with imperfect first layers. I'd say "mostly pretty good" instead of "always perfect".

My suspicion is that the cleaning process doesn't quite clean the nozzle in all cases. The times I've cleaned off the nozzle just before it starts that process have had the best results.

Others have suggested that the results on textured plates aren't as good because of the roughness of the texture.

Yes I got a full MK3 to MK4 upgrade kit.

I cleaned the nozzle bevor every print. But it looks like the nozzle is for the first layer 1-2 layer in the air.

I have the same problem with the smooth plate.

I just posted a picture in the mushroom cloud  thread of an instance where there was a strand of PETG that was stiff enough to fool the load cell during nozzle cleaning though the nozzle was about 1/2" above the bed

Thank for your hint, but my nozzle is very clean over the cleaning process and to the start of the first layer. I will contact the support tomorrow. I think I have a defect load cell sensor. Why you ask? When I display the load cell sensor value over the menu. I noticed that the value changed from +300 to -100 when I move the x-axis, in a high of 100 of the y -axis.

Update: Everythink is working, when I cover the sheet (plan, satin, structure sheet; print area and the cleaning zone) with Kores glue. Not perfect, but a workaround. But I will contact Prusa tomorrow.

I've had 1st layer issues for months. I don't like  the new bed leveling at all cause I think between the load cell tolerances and ooze from the nozzle, the process is not very reliable.

I think I have the same problem with PETG. Often a bad 1st layer.
Probably the 170°C are not hot enough for PETG.
I thold that to the Prusa support. But he told me the same thing to do like the other time before some weeks, he told me (cleaning nozzle, tighten all the screws around the nozzle-holder, cleaning the sheet etc.

Smae here, I can't get a 1st perfect layer. Tried everything, cleaning the bed (soap and ipa). Different brands of PLA (prusament included). New nozzle. Checked if there  was derbis under the sheet...etc. Support was unable to fix it neither so I'm waiting for an answer from QC. My problem gets solved if I live Z to +0.25-0.30
