RE: Get Hotend fan failure when run self test end to end, but when I run fans self test by itself it passes

I had the same issue last night when my Mk4 was finally put together. I contacted support and they had me remove the fan from the heatsink and re-run the test. When holding the fan horizontal, it was able to spin up past 7000rpm and the test passed.

They told me that the tests have been adjusted and sent me a 5.1.0 beta firmware that does it differently. With this firmware, my hotend fan was able to pass the test with the fan screwed on to the heatsink.

Sadly, with this firmware, now my Y-axis test fails. It was passing before. Grrrrrr

Update: I had to roll back to 5.0.1 and re-run the tests. I took the fan off, held it horizontally, and the fan RPM passed. All the tests passed on 5.0.1. I then upgraded to 5.1.0 and it didn't need more tests.

I have no issues printing now aside from bed adhesion which is just another story 🙂
