Filament Sensor Calibration not working

Hi all,

We have a self-assembled MK4 we are trying to calibrate.

It's gotten through all of the tests except the Filament Sensor Calibration - during the test it takes you through the instructions of unloading your filament, etc. While it is doing this it has the status of the filament sensor below, which correctly reads "DIS" for Disabled. Once you've clicked the "Is the filament in the filament sensor?" to say "No", it then processes for a couple of seconds and returns with a "Please insert the filament until the filament sensor ..." at which stage the sensor reads "OFF". No matter how many times I've tried, I cannot get it to work, which (in my opinion) makes sense because the sensor is OFF.

BUT strangely, my colleague who assembled the printer, just switched the printer on and managed to print 2 of the tags, and was confused about my confusion seeing the printer work without having passed the calibration. When we did a 2-layer, multi-filament print the filament sensor works just fine in loading and unloading the filament...

So, could this issue be a problem with the actual settings during the test and the FSensor being OFF instead of ON?

Anyone else having this issue?

if you go into sensor info (home - info - sensor info) does the reading change when you insert / remove filament? also, what firmware version are you on (home - info - version info)?

RE: Filament Sensor Calibration not working

I had the same problem when I assembled my MK4. Filament sensor seemd to work but failed self-test. Found that I had inserted 2 magnets (which was stuck together and looked like one) in the sensor. Removed one magnet and the sensor was back in business and passed self-test.
