Curious spot in bottom layers

Hello, folks! I put my MK4 together a few days ago. First few small test prints were great, but now these larger prints show signs of rippling in the first layer and now this large spot has appeared in this print. The print is lighter in color there in this spot. It almost looks like a cold spot in the heatbed? Anyone seen this before? Are the ripples and the spot related?

RE: Curious spot in bottom layers

I get the same; this part was sliced and printed twice in a row, and one time this happened.  I suspect the bed levelling algorithm thinks there is a convex feature in the build plate that is not there.  Looking at other threads, a dirty nozzle fouling the levelling measurement is one theory, but algorithm bug or weakness seems more likely to be dominant.  Hopefully a workaround will emerge and be shared on this post.

RE: Curious spot in bottom layers

Greetings to all involved.

I have exactly the same problem. All tests, available calibrations - everything went without problems, yet the first layer is a disaster ...
