Printing issues with VarioShore PTU

I'm trying to dial in my settings for a print using varioShore TPU. I've printing this part in another generic TPU material with no issues.

The main issue I'm seeing is small blobs along the wall and one area where the layers are not aligned. I've tried slowing the print speed and different retraction numbers with some improvement but its not quite dialed yet. Does this look like a speed or retraction issue or something else? thoughts?

Foaming filaments are always tricky as they throw away accuracy for volume, they mess with the extruder's internal pressure and there is no easy way to predict where the ooze will go.

Foaming filament of any type should be considered a technical challenge, foaming TPE has a place when the ability to vary the flexibility matters but it's semi-controlled expansion, thermal resistance and changes in strength and resilience mean that it's always going to be tricky to use and newbies should be made aware that it's going need a couple of years experience before attempting it.

The first thing to try is printing slowly, very slowly.

I've printing this part in another generic TPU material with no issues.

It's usually easier to select a TPE filament with a shore hardness close to your maximum requirement and to vary the flexibility within the part by varying the infill.  Reserve foaming TPE for extreme cases and expect to have to iterate tweaking every individual part file.

Cheerio,
