Webcam Mounted With Bed

In the past I had a webcam mounted on the frame under my print bed. I printed it in PLA. It was a simple design I got off Printables and modified it. It attached to one part of the flat horizontal frame the bed mounts on. It fit on this one part, in the red box in the image:

It slid onto this one "strut" and could be fastened in place with a zip tie. I printed it when I was first working with printing and did it in PLA. Then one day I printed in PETG, which uses a higher temp, and that weakened the part of the bracket that mounted on this strut. That messed up my print and I had to remove the mount.

I use another mount now, but would love to go back to having a camera mounted on the bed, so it is static relative to what I'm printing. (And my grandkids would love it too - since they love when I print them toys and think it's cool when they can watch the timelapse of the toys being printed!)

Since PLA worked when I was printing PLA, I would think that this part of the frame does not get as hot as the bed, so I was thinking I could make a frame from a filament that prints at a much higher bed temp, but I'd rather make something like, maybe, an aluminum bracket to attach to this spot. The problem is there is not much clearance. I don't want to use zip ties to secure it, since I don't know what kind of heat zip ties can handle. I thought of securing a piece of aluminum with a nut and screw, but I'm concerned about clearance.

Does anyone else prefer a webcam mounted to move with the print bed? If so, what are you using so print temps don't end up melting or weakening the bracket?
