Upgrade path from MK3.5 to MK3.9s ?
I have a MK3.5 currently (and also a MK4). I do like the Nextruder on the MK4 as the nozzle swap is so much easier and efficient. The perfect first layer is also fantastic, then there is the huge weight reduction due to using a pancake motor, that lone will help with residence reduction as it doesn't have so much weight to stop and move in the other direction.
Due to these reasons, I wanted to know if there was a path to upgrade from the MK3.5 to the MK3.9, essentially the Nextruder (as the xBuddy board and LCD were done with the 3.5 upgrade). I didn't see this as an option when looking at the MK3s+ upgrades as it shoots straight to 3.5s or 3.9, then 4s but nothing between these.
Let me know if there is something available.
*NOTE to Prusa team - it might be a good thing to add to the upgrade options, then those folks like myself can upgrade a little at a time or as needed (its more cost effective for some folks like myself to do it in smaller hops vice all at once).

I am in the exact same situation: MK4S + a MK3.5.
And since the Nextruder is so convenient on the MK4S, I also want to upgrade my MK3.5. So far I did not find any possibility to do that.
Some forum members suggested to sell the MK3.5 and buy a new MK4(s), but I do not want to do that. I also do not want to buy the MK3S -> MK3.9S/MK4S upgrade kit (for that price + the already spent MK3.5 upgrade I could have easily bought a Bambu 🙂 ). Joke aside.
Like OP already mentioned, the xBuddy board and screen are already upgraded. Adding an option for the Nextruder upgrade would be much appreciated.
So count me in, if there is a way to upgrade the MK3.5 to MK3.9(S) or MK4(S)

In looking at the upgrade path from a MK3s+ to 3.5 (buddy board/LCD) it is for $249, and the upgrade path from a MK3s+ to 3.9 (buddy board/LCD/Nextruder) it is $499. So ideally the Nextruder should be priced around $249 to close the gap between 3.5 to 3.9.
The main idea behind this threat is to allow for a more gradual upgrade path. Essentially allowing folks to upgrade a little at a time, as they may not be able to afford the larger jump all at once. It still comes out to same price point in the end, just gives those of us some more flexibility in doing it in smaller increments.

I too would love this option to be added. MK3.5s to MK3.9s or MK4s with out having to buy the entire kit for $499 to go from MK3 to Mk3.9/mk4.
Why is this not an option. Prusa is always talking about their customers and how they will always make parts available and will not leave customers stuck but it looks like that is not the case. Either you spend the additional $499 and waste all the parts from the Mk3 to Mk3.9/Mk4 or you buy a whole new MK4 and waste an entire printer. Come on Prusa take care of you customer by adding this other upgrade option.. Why not add the other upgrade option.

I would also like an option to upgrade my 3.5 to the 3.9 or the 4.0, I have a MK4, and a Mini already love the MK4 always prints no problems, just want to upgrade my 3.5 now. (PLEASE)
